The Perioperative Care Collaborative Position Statement
It's imperative that every surgical assistant in the Intuition Assisting team understands the limits of their responsibilities and what they can and cannot undertake in the theatre, in accordance with their level of qualification.
The Perioperative Care Collaborative's (PCC's) 2020 Position Statement for surgical first assistants sets out the remits and limitations of a surgical first assistant, trainee doctor or other perioperative healthcare assistant within a surgical care team.
Equally, a consultant who seeks the use of Intuition Assisting's services should consider the PCC's Position Statement when delegating tasks to their on-site or surgical locum assistants.
